Accessibility Statement
The Lancaster Golden Gales Athletic Department is committed to making this website usable by every athlete, parent, student and fan, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or captions.
Conformance Target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We are working through the site section by section as pages are rebuilt.
What We Have Done
- A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Headings are in a logical order so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
- Text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Layouts reflow to phone and tablet widths and stay usable when text is enlarged to 200%.
- Link text describes where the link goes, rather than “click here.”
- PDF handouts such as the FinalForms instructions also have a text version on the site.
Known Limitations
We know about the following issues and are working on them:
- Older pages. Some pages built on the previous site design have not yet been rebuilt and may have heading, contrast or alt text problems.
- PDF documents. Some older PDF forms and newsletters were not created as tagged, accessible PDFs. We can provide the content in another format on request.
- Third-party services. Schedules, ticketing and registration are hosted by outside providers such as DragonFly, FinalForms and the OHSAA. We do not control their accessibility, but we will help you get the same information another way.
- Photos from families and coaches. Team and event photos submitted to us may have brief or missing descriptions.

If you cannot reach something on this site, tell us. Please include the page address and what happened, and we will respond and provide the information in a format you can use.
